Sam Joseph
Sam Joseph is a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in power systems and process optimization. Currently serving as a Power System Analyst, Sam specializes in analyzing the complex factors that influence the cost of power. By leveraging advanced modeling and historical data analysis, he provides actionable insights that support management, operations, and engineering. His expertise includes transmission and distribution system operations, reserve planning, production cost modeling, fuel accounting, renewable forecasting, avoided cost calculations, and developing interconnection requirements for IPPs and large loads.
Before his current role, Sam worked as a Power System Dispatcher, rotating across Generation/Transmission, Distribution, and Outage desks. During this time, he handled tasks ranging from day-ahead load forecasting and unit commitment to transmission operation, switching, and outage management. He also contributed to improving dispatcher training programs and formalizing operating procedures.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Communications Technology and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
