Peter Luessen

Product Line Director Hydrogen, Mitsubishi Power Americas
Peter is the Director of Product Line Management, Renewable Fuels, for Mitsubishi Power Americas. In his role, he is responsible for managing the Hydrogen product line for Hydrogen production using renewable resources as a means to provide long-term energy storage. Peter has over 30 years' experience in the electric power generation equipment and energy markets. His experience includes gas turbines, combined cycles, alternate fuels, emissions, Hydrogen applications, Pipeline Integrity, IoT transformations, and battery energy storage. During his career, he has worked for GE, BOC Gases (Linde), and LS Energy Solutions leading Engineering organizations, Product Line management, Market Development, and Application Engineering. He has served in the past as Vice Chairman for MESA and Chair for ASME IGTI. He is involved with organizations such as ASME, AIST, ESA, IEEE, NYBEST, and NFPA.

"I think my favorite part of the conference has been essentially the Smarter Power Plant Track. There's been a lot of good [takeaways] for us because our plans are quite old, so there's a lot of manual readings and things, but me being the IT generation, I think it could be done better. So having a lot of these [takeaways] from companies who have [accomplished what] we are wanting to do is great. It's been really eye opening networking with all of the exhibitors [as well]. It's my first time here, but I don’t think it's going to be my last."
