Jeremy Shook
Jeremy Shook is a Principal Consultant in the Strategic Advisory & Lifecycle Resiliency business unit at Black & Veatch. In this role, he helps clients develop strategies in the areas of decarbonization and distributed energy.
Jeremy began his career in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear submarine officer. He then entered industry and worked at GE Energy, AREVA, Fluor, Parsons, and Burns & McDonnell. During this time, he worked on the design and construction of both electric utility generating stations and on-site steam, hot water, chilled water, and cogeneration facilities. He then worked at the Electric Power Research Institute where he led research on the use of nuclear energy in data center, industrial, district energy, and water and wastewater markets prior to joining Black & Veatch.
Jeremy has wide ranging expertise across the entire power and energy facility lifecycle. He is skilled in management consulting, research & development, project development, project management, engineering management, design engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations and maintenance. He has experience in nuclear, solar, wind, gas, oil, and coal energy production systems, as well as battery and thermal energy storage systems.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is a licensed Professional Engineer, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
