Henk de Swardt is the Chief Engineer - Electrical for Timken Gears and Services, Inc. and responsible for technical support to the division's three electric motor workshops, Smith Services, Schulz Electric and H&N Electric and the division's Gearbox Repair and Manufactory plants of Philadelphia Gear.

Henk obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electric and Electronic Engineering from the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) in 1995.

He is an electric motor design engineer by trade with more than 30 years of electric motor experience at various OEM's and repair companies in the US and internationally. He has extensive practical experience in motor/generator manufacture and repair.

He is the holder of 11 US patents and a published author of 9 IEEE published technical paper and 33 other published technical papers on the design, manufacture, repair and maintenance of electric motors and generators.
