Christina Nichols leads Renewables Forward, a cross industry organization working to drive action for a just economic transition to clean energy, with inclusion, equity and diversity. Nichols has worked in the clean energy industry for nearly 40 years, designing and leading programs to advance energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local, state and national level. She previously served as the Green Jobs Advisor for Secretary Solis (Department of Labor) before joining the Department of Energy (DOE), where she created Solar Ready Vets, Veterans in Energy and led market transformation, workforce programming and economic research within DOE’s Solar Energy Technology Office. She later served as DOE’s Workforce Director under Secretary Ernest Moniz. She holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
