Use of Nanocoating Leads to Full-Scale Power Plant Efficiency Gains
THERMOPHASE is gaining major steam in the utility and industrial sectors. The nano-coating is designed to prevent fouling, improve thermal efficiency, and reduce maintenance and emissions. It has been applied to various heat exchangers, such as condensers, chillers, plates, and frames.
This presentation will include case studies and examples of success on the power side. Over 24 months at a 770 MW thermal power plant, THERMOPHASE enabled millions in cost savings, slashed emissions and cut water usage —plus additional reductions in ash, NOx, SOx, Hg, ammonia, lime and activated carbon. The results were validated in a DOE/NETL study. The presentation will also share data from application at a 900 MW unit condenser, as well as the closed cooling water heat exchangers at that facility.
