The Role of Gas Turbines in the Clean Energy Transition

Feb 12, 2025
Exhibit Hall E
Keynote

All badge holders are eligible to attend.

Renewable energy additions are reshaping the electric grid, but gas turbines will remain a power generation workhorse and complement load swings in a reliable manner. However, gas turbines need to evolve as we work toward decarbonization goals.

This keynote panel will highlight the rapid development of low-carbon fuel retrofits for gas turbines, with a specific focus on hydrogen and ammonia. Coupled with the introduction of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), these innovations have the potential to position gas turbines as key players in the clean energy transition. Prominent gas turbine OEMs will focus on cutting-edge R&D, blending demonstrations and policy considerations for new and existing gas turbine-equipped power plants.
